Frequently Asked
Questions

How do distance alerts work?

Distance alerts are based on proximity estimation using wireless signal strength
between the device and the phone.

The device does not measure exact physical distance in meters. Instead, it detects
changes in signal conditions and triggers alerts when the separation exceeds a
configured threshold.

How accurate are distance alerts?

Distance alerts are approximate and depend on environmental conditions.

Factors that can affect when an alert is triggered include:

  • Walls and obstacles
  • Indoor vs outdoor environments
  • How the phone and device are carried (pocket, bag, wrist)
  • Interference from other wireless devices

Because of this, alerts may trigger earlier or later depending on the situation.

Do I need to calibrate the distance?

Yes. Calibration is recommended to achieve more consistent alerts.

Calibrating the device helps adapt the alert behavior to the environment where it will be
used most often. If the device is used in a very different environment (for example,
moving from indoor to outdoor use), recalibration may improve performance.

What happens if the device loses connection?

If the connection between the device and the phone is lost:

  • An alert may be triggered, depending on the configuration.
  • The device will automatically attempt to reconnect when the phone is back in
    range.
  • Once reconnected, normal operation resumes automatically.

No manual reset is required.

Can I manage multiple devices from one account?

Yes. One account can manage multiple devices.

This allows users to monitor more than one device at the same time, for example:

  • Multiple children (Lumi)
  • Multiple personal items (OS)

How do I link a new device to my account?

To link a new device:

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
  2. Open the application.
  3. Follow the pairing instructions shown on screen.
  4. Keep the device close to the phone during the process.

Once paired, the device remains linked unless it is manually removed.

What should I do if my device is not connecting?

If the device is not connecting:

  • Verify that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
  • Make sure the device has sufficient battery charge.
  • Keep the device close to the phone.
  • Restart Bluetooth or the application if needed.

If the problem persists, re-pairing the device usually resolves the issue.

How long does the battery last?

Battery life varies depending on:

  • Frequency of alerts
  • Use of sound, vibration (Lumi), and LEDs
  • Environmental wireless conditions

Higher alert activity and challenging environments may reduce battery life.

What happens if the battery runs out?

If the battery is depleted, the device will temporarily stop operating.

This does not damage the device. Simply recharge it to resume normal operation.

Note: Since the device does not have a manual power-off, it may slowly discharge over time
even when not actively used.

How do I charge the device?

Charging depends on the device version:

  • Lumi is charged using a USB-C cable.
  • OS is charged wirelessly using a compatible wireless charging base.

Always make sure the device is clean and dry before charging.

Is the device water-resistant?

The device is designed to withstand everyday exposure such as light splashes and rain.

However:

  • It should not be submerged.
  • It should not be exposed to high-pressure water.
  • Charging should only be done when the device is dry.

Can drops or impacts affect performance?

Yes. Strong impacts or drops may affect:

  • Sensor accuracy
  • Alert behavior
  • The integrity of the device enclosure

If the device shows abnormal behavior after a strong impact, contact support.

Does Lumi vibrate? Does OS vibrate?

  • Lumi includes a vibration motor to provide tactile feedback.
  • OS does not include vibration and relies on sound and visual alerts instead.

Can environmental conditions affect performance?

Yes. Performance can vary depending on:

  • Walls and enclosed spaces
  • Metal objects
  • Crowded wireless environments
  • Phone orientation and placement

For best results, calibrate and test the device in your typical usage environment.
